Our Interior Design & Project Coordination Process

At Forget Me Not Interior Design LLC, every successful project begins with thoughtful communication, trusted guidance, and a clear understanding of how you want your home to feel, function, and support your lifestyle. Our goal is to make the renovation and design process feel organized, seamless, and enjoyable while creating timeless coastal homes thoughtfully tailored to the way you live.

1. Discovery Call
We begin with a brief introductory conversation to discuss your project goals, overall vision, timeline, lifestyle needs, and preferred level of involvement throughout the process. This initial conversation helps establish the foundation for a thoughtfully curated design experience tailored specifically to your home and project goals.

2. On-Site Consultation
Next, we schedule a paid in-home consultation where we walk the property together and discuss the project scope, investment expectations, design priorities, timelines, and overall vision for the space. Whether the project involves a seasonal refresh, a kitchen or bathroom renovation, a large-scale remodel, a new build, or a full-home furnishing plan, this meeting establishes the framework for a seamless and well-organized experience.
Following the consultation, a customized flat-fee interior design proposal is prepared based on the project’s size and scope. Once approved, a detailed contract is generated, and a more in-depth planning meeting is scheduled.

3. Design & Planning
During the design and planning phase, we develop the overall design direction, layouts, furnishings, finish selections, material palettes, and project coordination plan. Every decision is approached with a balance of livable luxury, functionality, timeless style, and relaxed sophistication, creating beautifully layered interiors that feel elevated yet welcoming. We listen intently to your ideas and vision for the project, then pull them together and add our creative vision to make your dreams come true.
Drawing on years of professional and personal renovation and construction experience, we guide homeowners through the many moving parts involved in creating a cohesive, thoughtfully executed home while helping to reduce overwhelm and decision fatigue throughout the process.

4. Project Coordination & Oversight
Project management services are billed separately at an hourly rate and include coordination of carefully selected contractors and trades to help ensure the best possible outcome for your project.
As part of our project coordination services, we help coordinate scheduling, communication, timelines, deliveries, contractor proposals, and the overall project flow, while providing regular updates throughout the renovation process. As both the Interior Designer and Project Manager, I am regularly on-site to oversee installations, proactively address issues, maintain project momentum, and help ensure the overall vision comes together seamlessly from concept through completion.

One of the greatest advantages of this structure is that homeowners contract with and pay their tradespeople directly. This allows for full financial transparency, direct ownership of contractor relationships, greater control over budgeting, and direct access to warranties and agreements while still benefiting from experienced professional oversight and coordination throughout the project.

5. Final Styling & Completion
The final phase brings warmth, comfort, refinement, and cohesion to the completed home through thoughtful styling, carefully selected furnishings, layered textures, artwork, lighting, and finishing details. The end result is a polished yet approachable coastal home designed to feel timeless, welcoming, and beautifully connected to the way you live, gather, relax, and enjoy your space for years to come.

At Forget Me Not Interior Design LLC, our turnkey interior design services provide homeowners on Long Beach Island and in the surrounding waterfront community with a seamless, elevated, and highly organized experience from concept through completion. By managing the many details involved in a renovation or furnishing project, we help remove much of the stress and decision fatigue that often accompanies large-scale home projects, allowing clients to enjoy the transformation of their home with greater confidence and ease.

Each turnkey project is thoughtfully tailored to the homeowner’s lifestyle, vision, and investment goals. Depending on the scope of work, services may include space planning, furnishings, lighting, paint selections, wallcoverings, artwork, styling, architectural details, and complete kitchen and bathroom design coordination, including cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, hardware, tile selections, and lighting plans.

Before the project begins, we work collaboratively with homeowners to define the project scope, establish priorities, review timelines, and discuss the overall financial investment in detail. This creates a clear roadmap for the project while ensuring the design vision, expectations, and overall goals remain aligned from the very beginning.

Whether the project involves a new build, a large-scale renovation, a seasonal refresh, or a complete turnkey furnishing plan, successful execution requires careful coordination, trusted trade relationships, and ongoing communication throughout every phase of the process. For homeowners who live outside the area or prefer a more streamlined experience, our role is to simplify the process by overseeing the details, coordinating vendors and trades, organizing timelines, and maintaining consistent communication from start to finish.

Most importantly, professional interior design brings cohesion, intention, and long-term value to the home. Every design decision is approached with a balance of comfort, functionality, timeless style, and that relaxed coastal comfort in mind. We specialize in creating thoughtfully curated spaces that feel refined, welcoming, and beautifully connected to the way you live and enjoy your home.

Forget Me Not Interior Design LLC proudly provides turnkey interior design services, renovation coordination, project management, and seasonal home refresh services throughout Long Beach Island and the surrounding coastal communities. Whether you are updating a few rooms in your home or transforming your entire home, our goal is to create a polished, personalized experience that feels as effortless as the finished result.

Successful renovations and large-scale home projects require far more than selecting beautiful furnishings. Behind every well-executed transformation is a carefully coordinated process involving contractor scheduling, material lead times, budgeting, communication, timelines, and hundreds of important decisions that directly impact the overall result. There’s definitely a gift in having a strong project manager who is organized and whose order of operation has stood the test of time. Hiring an experienced Interior Designer and Project Manager helps homeowners navigate that process with greater confidence and peace of mind.

At Forget Me Not Interior Design LLC, project management services are designed to relieve homeowners of much of the stress and day-to-day coordination involved in a renovation or design project while ensuring the overall vision comes together seamlessly from concept through completion. One of the greatest advantages of hiring an Interior Designer as your Project Manager is continuity throughout the process. The same professional helping create the design vision is also overseeing its execution on-site, helping reduce miscommunication, avoid costly mistakes, maintain project momentum, and create a more cohesive final result.

Clients are no longer required to manage the project’s daily operations themselves. Our firm coordinates scheduling, facilitates communication between trades, organizes timelines, monitors progress, proactively addresses issues, and provides regular updates, including photos and videos shared directly with the homeowner. This level of oversight is especially valuable for clients with second homes or vacation properties who may live out of the area and want the confidence that comes with having a trusted professional regularly overseeing the project on their behalf.

While we are happy to collaborate with homeowner-selected contractors, we also provide access to a carefully vetted network of trusted local tradespeople, craftsmen, and industry professionals known for their quality workmanship, professionalism, and reliability. Growing up and working within these coastal communities of Long Beach Island and the surrounding areas has allowed us to build long-standing relationships with highly skilled professionals who consistently deliver exceptional work and communicate effectively throughout the renovation process.

Strong coordination between trades is one of the most important factors in maintaining timelines, reducing delays, and creating a successful project experience. Through direct communication, organized scheduling, and ongoing oversight, we help homeowners avoid many common frustrations associated with renovations, including scheduling conflicts, inconsistent workmanship, project delays, and fragmented decision-making among contractors.

Forget Me Not Interior Design LLC does not provide general contracting services. Homeowners maintain direct relationships with their selected contractors and are responsible for all permits, contracts, warranties, and payments associated with the project. One of the greatest benefits of this structure is that homeowners maintain full financial transparency, direct ownership of contractor relationships, and greater control over budgeting and financial planning while still benefiting from experienced professional project coordination and design oversight throughout the process. Wallpaper installation, custom upholstery, window treatments, and final installation services are naturally coordinated directly through the firm. It really is the best of both worlds.

Many homeowners throughout Long Beach Island and the surrounding coastal communities choose to complete large-scale renovations during the off-season months so they can fully enjoy their homes throughout the summer without interruption. At Forget Me Not Interior Design LLC, seasonal renovation projects are thoughtfully planned and coordinated to maximize both project efficiency and homeowner enjoyment of their coastal property.

These projects often extend far beyond simple updates and may include extensive kitchen and bathroom remodels, full-home renovations, additions, custom built-ins, fireplace renovations, new flooring, interior and exterior paint selections, furnishings, lighting, architectural details, and complete turnkey interior design services. Recent projects have included an oceanfront seven-bathroom and kitchen renovation paired with five rooms of full-service interior design, as well as another large-scale coastal renovation involving new exterior siding, roofing, gutters, hardwood flooring, a custom fireplace with built-ins, a complete kitchen remodel, interior painting, and full furnishings throughout the upper level of the home.

Successful off-season renovations require careful planning, organized scheduling, trusted relationships with contractors, and ongoing coordination among multiple trades and vendors. For homeowners who live outside the area or prefer a more streamlined experience, managing those moving parts independently can quickly become overwhelming. Our firm simplifies the process through experienced project coordination, detailed communication, organized timelines, and trusted relationships with highly skilled local craftsmen and industry professionals.

As both the Interior Designer and Project Manager, Lisa works closely with homeowners and her team of trades throughout every phase of the renovation process to help ensure the overall vision comes together seamlessly from concept through completion. Every decision is approached with a balance of timeless style, functionality, refined coastal living, and long-term value in mind, creating thoughtfully curated homes that feel elevated, welcoming, and beautifully tailored to the way clients live and enjoy their homes for years to come.

Building a custom home on Long Beach Island or within the surrounding coastal communities is one of the most exciting investments a homeowner can make, but it is also one of the most complex. Behind every beautiful new build are thousands of decisions that directly impact the home’s functionality, aesthetics, long-term value, and overall construction budget. Without thoughtful planning early in the process, costly revisions, delayed timelines, and disconnected design decisions can quickly occur once construction is underway.

At Forget Me Not Interior Design LLC, we believe the best time to hire an Interior Designer is before construction begins. Too often, homeowners complete a new build only to realize that important details, such as lighting placement, cabinetry layouts, architectural elements, flooring transitions, or finish selections, do not feel cohesive once the home comes together. Correcting those decisions later can become both expensive and frustrating.

With firsthand personal and professional experience navigating the custom home-building process, I understand the importance of making informed decisions early and of creating a clear design plan from the start. My role is to help homeowners streamline selections, reduce decision fatigue, improve communication throughout the project, and create a finished home that feels intentional, timeless, and beautifully connected from room to room.

Builders are experts at constructing the home itself, while Interior Designers help shape how you live in your home, how it functions, and how it feels on a daily basis. The collaboration between builder and designer is where truly exceptional homes are created. From cabinetry layouts and tile selections to lighting plans, architectural details, paint palettes, flooring, hardware, and furnishings, every decision should work together to support a larger vision for the home.

Hiring an Interior Designer for your new build is not simply about selecting finishes — it is about protecting your investment while creating a more seamless and enjoyable building experience. Thoughtful design planning can help prevent costly mistakes, maintain project momentum, improve communication between trades, and create a cohesive final result that enhances both the beauty and long-term value of the home.

For homeowners who live outside the area or prefer a more streamlined experience, we provide ongoing design guidance, project coordination, and communication throughout the building process. Whether clients want to be highly involved in every decision or prefer trusted professional guidance along the way, we tailor the experience to each homeowner’s lifestyle, comfort level, and overall project goals.

In the end, your new build should feel more than simply new. It should feel refined, personal, functional, and thoughtfully designed around the way you live, creating a timeless coastal home you’ll enjoy for years to come.

Benefits of Using an Interior Designer Project Manager (IDPM), Over a General Contractor

Renovations and large-scale home projects involve far more than selecting finishes and furnishings. Behind every successful project are hundreds of decisions, contractor schedules, material lead times, budgeting considerations, and ongoing communication between multiple trades. Even smaller projects can quickly become overwhelming without experienced guidance and a clear overall vision.

Project Management

Do you provide any other services?

I have received special requests to consult on homes currently on the market but not selling for their highest market value. I usually assess the home’s current condition and recommend short-term improvements to the homeowner and/or real estate agent.

Important Disclaimer: General contracting is not included. I am not a General Contractor. When a homeowner hires me as a design and project consultant, all trades are hired and paid directly by the homeowner. I make recommendations for tradespeople I have worked with and have established relationships of trust due to their craftsmanship and reliability. The final decision rests solely with the homeowner, and all financial exchanges and warranties are directly between the homeowner and the tradespeople, except for the wallpaper installer and custom window treatments.

All projects are priced according to size and scope. Each project is unique, and pricing varies based on the estimated time and scope required to complete the job. Once project details are assessed, a flat fee, which is paid before the execution of the project, is collected. All tradespeople will submit estimates and bills to the homeowner directly as discussed above.
