Every piece of furniture selected for a project helps set the tone for your design plan or it can send it crashing!
Adding this large-scale libation cabinet to a renovation project certainly set the tone for an industrial vibe. This piece originally viewed on Houzz but sourced locally for a wholesale price is beautiful!
The painted cabinet originally on site was smaller in scale and definitely traditional. Since the libation cabinet was so much larger than the previous cabinet which created a pinch point (not enough room to comfortably walk between the cabinet and the countertop). So, we elected to reshape the Cerra marble overhang on the adjacent countertop to create a larger walkway. After that modification was made, the cabinet fit perfectly and the walkway between the two (cabinet and countertop) is 44” which is perfect.
Both the addition of a larger scale piece of furniture was accommodated and an unusual point at the end of a countertop was corrected. It was a win-win in the design book of solving problems.
